Wedding: Jocelyn's Nantucket Wedding

Save This Article

Nantucket has been a second home to Tuckernuck co-founder Jocelyn since she was born. It’s her "happy place", rooted in carefree memories of biking on sandy roads, beach barbecuing at eel point and wave jumping until the sun sets... always with friends and family. The small island and venues were where she wanted to get married for as long as she could remember. What made her decision easier was that her husband Charlie shared a similar love for the "grey lady," spending his summers there as well.
We started the weekend off with a casual BBQ at my in-laws in foggy Sconset. It was a perfect way to introduce our friends from Hong Kong, NYC and childhood to the romance of the Grey Lady (and each other)!

The Welcome BBQ

Our rehearsal dinner was very classic playing off of the iconic Nantucket symbols such as the Nantucket basket and blue hydrangeas. The toasts from our friends and family are still my most memorable laughs and tears from the weekend.

The Rehearsal Dinner

Since the wedding was in early June, the island was in bloom. I wanted the reception to feel like a 1950’s garden party. The Yacht Club has vintage elements that fit perfectly with that era.

The Wedding

The flower arrangements were meant to look like they had just been cut from the garden (Flowers on Chestnut was the florist. They are incredible!). Planters Punch was our signature cocktail and I found an incredible recipe from Martha Stewart for a Lobster Orecchiette.

The Reception

The moment I tried on my dress I knew it was the one. I think it was actually the first one I tried on. I had two main objectives, the first was that it was timeless and the second was that it was carefree enough for me to break out crazy wedding dance moves.
