Summer Find The Fun List

June 23rd, 2020

Each season we set out to #findthefun by creating a bucket list. See what we’ll be up to and what we’ll be wearing while checking off the list.

Get low and limbo.

Turn up the tunes and organize a game of limbo at your next outdoor cocktail hour.

Learn to tie dye.

Embrace the psychedelic trend and get crafty by making your own tie dye shirt or socks.

Compete in bocce ball.

Engage in a little friendly competition on the beach or out in the lawn.

Make a meal donation.

We will be donating 500,000 meals to the organization No Kid Hungry, through our face mask campaign!

Make your own guac.

Nothing says summer like fresh guacamole and tortilla chips. Show off to friends or family by making some from scratch. (see recipe on the back). Extra Fun Tip: Make it a guac off!

How to Make Guac

Ingredients
3 Avocados
2-3 Minced Garlic Cloves
1 Tbs of Chopped Fresh Cilantro
1 Small/Medium Chopped Tomato (Most Seeds Removed)
1 Chopped Small/Medium Red Onion
1 Minced Jalapeno (Seeded)
1 Lemon or Lime
Kosher Salt
Tortilla Chips of Choice (We Like Tostitos Scoops)

Recipe

Mix garlic, cilantro, tomato, onion, jalapeno in a large bowl. Scoop avocado out with a spoon and lightly mash in the bowl with other ingredients.
Mix in lemon or lime juice and kosher salt to taste.

Tips

It can be annoying for recipes to say “to taste” for ingredient quantities. However, guac is a dish best served however you like it. Add more jalapeno to kick up the spice, more citrus for if you like it tangy, leave cilantro out if you prefer, etc. The important thing to remember is avocado should be the star of the show, don’t add too many things that mask the flavor!
If you don’t feel like chopping all of the ingredients, you can always get avocados, mash them up, and add a few tablespoons of your favorite salsa. We prefer a salsa without too much flavor other than the fresh ingredients. Fresh guac will eventually turn brown but save 1 of the pits, put it in the middle of the container you’re storing the guac in and press plastic wrap on the surface, then put the lid on.
